I'm a pianist living in the DFW area, and most of my days fall into two shapes — teaching private piano lessons in students' homes, and playing live for weddings, events, and quiet nights that deserve a soundtrack.
I started piano young, kept going through music school, and built a recording catalog of romantic piano — originals, plus reimagined versions of songs by Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey, and the indie artists I keep coming back to.
What I love most is the moment a student plays something all the way through for the first time. That, and the look on someone's face when their first dance song fills the room. Both feel like the same job to me.
